La familia Von Asseburg compró este castillo a mediados del siglo xv y sigue siendo dueña de la propiedad. Durante siglos, un cuarto del castillo permaneció cerrado, al menos hasta 1839, fecha en la que fue abierto por trabajadores y clausurado casi inmediatamente –hallaron el esqueleto de una mujer–. Pasaron cien años para que volviera a abrirse: soldados estadounidenses durante la ocupación de Alemania al final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial irrumpieron en él y se dice que encontraron un cuchillo de carnicero colgando de una cadena en el techo. La recámara en cuestión no sólo es popular porque al parecer tenía que
permanecer cerrada para contener los espíritus que ahí se amasaban,
sino porque el centro de la actividad paranormal se dice que es una cama. Actualmente es un museo.

The Von Asseburg family bought the castle in the middle of the fifteenth century and still owns the property. For centuries, a quarter of the castle was closed, at least until 1839, the date on which it was opened by workers and closed almost immediately-they found the skeleton of a woman. It took one hundred years to be opened again: U.S. soldiers during the occupation of Germany at the end of the Second World War broke it and they said they found a butcher knife hanging from a chain on the ceiling. The chamber in question is not only popular because apparently had to be closed to contain the spirits that there is kneaded, but because the center of the paranormal activity is said to be a bed. It is now a museum
